With the weather warming up, it’s the perfect time to get outdoors and explore. During our students' Community sessions, we’ve visited so many fantastic places, and now we want to share some wonderful, free activities that families can enjoy together. Whether you love walking, exploring, or discovering hidden treasures, there’s something for everyone!
Orienteering in Local Parks
Orienteering is a great way to explore local parks while testing your navigation skills. Visit wessex-of.org and click on 'Permanent Orienteering Courses' to find maps for different parks. Print one out, grab a compass, and see how many checkpoints you can find!
Geocaching – A Real-Life Treasure Hunt
Geocaching is a fantastic outdoor adventure where you use GPS to find hidden containers called Geocaches. Simply download the free app from geocaching.com, choose a location, and start your treasure hunt. It’s a fun and exciting way to explore new areas while keeping everyone entertained!
