I am thrilled to share the wonderful experiences our new year 7 children have had during their first few weeks at secondary school. It has been an exciting and enriching time filled with new adventures and learning opportunities.
Our Year 7 students have embraced a variety of activities that have helped them settle into their new environment. They have enjoyed water-sports, sailing, and paddle-boarding, which not only provided fun and excitement but also taught them valuable teamwork and resilience skills. Our outdoor adventures continued with walking and beach-combing, allowing the students to explore nature and bond with their peers.
In the classroom, our holistic approach to education ensures that we support the whole child, helping them to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. The students have been learning about the human body and its important organs, gaining a deeper understanding of how their bodies work. They have also been introduced to new maths skills, building a strong foundation for future learning.
Our English lessons have transported the students to the Victorian world of Oliver Twist, where they have explored the life and challenges of this iconic character. This has sparked their imaginations and encouraged a love for reading and storytelling.
Making new friends and getting used to new routines, timetables, and teachers has been a significant part of their journey. We are proud of how well they have adapted and the positive relationships they have formed.
We believe in nurturing every aspect of our students’ development, and we are committed to providing an environment where they can flourish. Thank you to our parent community for your continued support as we work together to ensure our students have a successful and enjoyable start to their secondary school journey.
Mrs Poole.
