It’s the first week back after a long and restful summer break, and what a week it has been, filled with smiling faces and enthusiasm and eagerness to learn. The school welcomed a new cohort of students across all year groups, and with new students came a range of new improvements throughout the school site too.
One of the key school values is resilience, and it’s essential for our school site to allow for the building of resilience in every student by offering calming breakout spaces where students can relax, recuperate and replenish throughout the school day. With this in mind, our outdoor spaces had an extreme makeover over the holidays, with two new areas proving extremely popular with everyone – the first is The Tipi, a cool covered space where students can chill out or take a relaxing break. The second is The Lookout, a great raised space overlooking the outdoor area and into the sports hall – this space has already been utilised for silent reading, recharging, and there was even some guitar practice going on there this afternoon!
It’s all part of the ways in which The Lion Works School provides an innovative approach to the education and development of our young people through a carefully designed and curated space that gives our wonderful students the space to feel calm, inspired and rested.
